Handy Tips – How To Play Dhamma Talk Videos on smartphone with screen off

If you are playing any videos on your phone browser or YouTube app, you will need to keep the video playing in the foreground to listen to the Dhamma talk. If you are interested with just the audio, but do want want to watch the video, this is a handy tips you can use to play any videos on sayalaysusila.net or youtube.com, with screen off, or in the background.

Here are the steps to play any Dhamma Talk videos on the smartphone with screen off, or in the background.

1. Open your browser app (Chrome or Firefox) on your smartphone.
2. Go to Video Gallery page in our website www.sayalaysusila.net (Direct Link: https://www.sayalaysusila.net/dhamma-gallery/video-gallery/)
3. Click on the three dot menu button (on the top right of the browser, and enable “Desktop site” (Chrome) or “Request Desktop Site” (Firefox). You will notice that the page will reload, and the page will now appear as what you would see on your desktop PC.
4. Then, play the Dhamma talk video that you wish to listen to.
5. Return / Go back to Home Screen of your phone. You will notice that the video will pause when you do this.
6. Next, swipe down the notification bar of your phone, and you can see the Play button of your browser there. Click the Play button to resume the video playback.
7. You can now listen to the audio part of the video, and it will continue to play in the background, even though you turn the screen off, or continue to use another app.
8. At any time, you can play or pause the audio part of the video by clicking on the Play/Pause button you can find by swiping down the notification bar.

You can also play the audio part of any other videos from YouTube (www.youtube.com) or any other website, using the same method. Just remember to change the URL address in step 2, and go to the website required in Chrome or Firefox browser app.
